FRIEZE LONDON
2024

From October 10th to 13th at Frieze London, Maison Ruinart presents “Conversations with Nature”, a collective and artistic imprint embodying the Maison’s values. As part of the Carte Blanche, Henrique Oliveira and Marcus Coates showcase their artworks in the Maison's lounge.

This year, Maison Ruinart Carte Blanche offers for the first time a collective and diverse vision, driven by six artists from around the world. Inspired by this tangible connection with nature, Maison Ruinart lays the foundations of a collective movement.

HENRIQUE OLIVEIRA

As part of the program “Carte Blanche”, Henrique Oliveira imagined a tree sculpture, symbolizing recycling and evoking the roots of a labyrinth, in connection with the chalk quarries where Ruinart ages its champagne, recalling the history of the Champagne landscape shaped by chalk for millions of years.

MARCUS COATES

Marcus Coates explores imaginary and symbolic relationships between mankind and nature. For Ruinart Carte Blanche 2024, the artist explores the Maison’s historic Taissy vineyards, documenting the extraordinary amount of biodiversity present in these surroundings.

He designed an ephemeral calendar to mark the daily events in the form of flags. The calendar celebrates invisible news from our ecosystem with a short phrase.
