LIMITED EDITION SIGNED BY TADASHI KAWAMATA

Tadashi Kawamata has designed a limited-edition wooden case for the Ruinart Blanc de Blancs jeroboam.

Inspired by the atmosphere of the Champagne vineyards, he has designed a case that sits at the crossroads between sculpture, object, and improvised shelter. It features a hollowed-out corner, from which a piece of wood is carefully removed, then reshaped and reassembled to form a miniature nest placed inside the box, like a hidden shelter.

This delicate gesture highlights recyclability and craftsmanship, while reflecting the artist’s sensitivity to fragility and transience, as well as his practice of transforming simple materials into poetic forms.

The jeroboam’s label is replaced by a hand-screen-printed, handwritten-style design by the artist, giving each piece a unique and personal touch. This box, both a work of art and an exceptional presentation case, highlights the expertise of the House of Ruinart and the aromatic richness of Chardonnay.

"In the gardens, humans connect with nature. The history of Ruinart and this Champagne terroir is reflected in every detail of the landscaping. It is a garden to explore and experience, revealing the spirit of the Maison. The outdoor spaces form a scenographic path designed to awaken the senses and evoke emotions."

THE CHARDONNAY

A SIGNATURE GRAPE VARIETY

In 1947, Bertrand Mure, then at the helm of the House, established Chardonnay as Ruinart’s signature grape, seeking freshness and elegance. Since then, this grape variety has been included in the blend of all cuvées and, since 1959, has been showcased in the Dom Ruinart vintages, crafted exclusively from Grand Cru Chardonnays.

Here, the Jeroboam offers an ideal storage solution. The low volume of air in this large-format bottle results in slower oxidation, which enhances the wine’s aromatic richness. More complex yet subtle, Ruinart Blanc de Blancs aged in a Jeroboam is a blend of 25 to 30 rigorously selected Chardonnay crus. Its texture reveals a masterful balance between roundness and the aromatic freshness of its notes.
