TADASHI KAWAMATA

Born in Japan in 1953, Tadashi Kawamata lives and works between Tokyo and Paris. He is a major artist on the contemporary scene. His artistic career explores the relationship between art, architecture, design, and everyday life, with a particular focus on environmental issues and the reuse of materials.

CONVERSATION WITH NATURE 2026

For nearly 300 years, Maison Ruinart has believed in the power of art to transform, connect, and enlighten. Through Conversations with Nature, Maison Ruinart invites committed artists to give voice to the living world, raise awareness, inspire change, and nurture a deeper connection with nature.

THE ARTWORKS

Tadashi is renowned for his in situ installations made from wood or recycled materials, designed to interact with their surroundings and offer a new perspective on nature and the places that host them. For Ruinart, he has created three works that invite viewers to observe the vibrations of life, which are essential to the harmony of champagne.
