THE ARTIST
Art director, set designer and designer, Alexandre Benjamin Navet is above all an artist whose medium of choice is drawing.
He was the first artist to be given Carte Blanche at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, in 2019.While he works in Paris, his collaborations now take him all around the world.
Inspired by vivid colours and industrial design, he tells stories in a simple and playful language, with oil pastel, crayons or Japanese water colours. Nuances become his language. Flat tints and lines come alive in his works to give life to spaces that extend reality.
Alexandre Benjamin Navet does not hesitate to bend the rules of perspective and play with depth to create 2 or 3 dimensional universes, starting from a blank page or an existing support, like the Ruinart second skin case.
Ruinart has chosen Alexandre Benjamin Navet to create a series of drawings illustrating the Maison's commitments to sustainable development.
The colored strokes of these drawings are the artist's signature, highlighting the Maison's historic commitment to preserving the environment, the soil and its know-how.
A pioneer, Ruinart has made strong pledges since the 2000s, and is committed to carrying out numerous transformations to achieve a positive impact on the world, from the eco-design of its packaging to the protection of biodiversity.
Inspired by the aromatic universe of each of the Maison's cuvées, the artist and designer Alexandre Benjamin Navet as applied his pencil strokes to the second-skin case that envelops the bottles, and signed a limited edition in which each piece is unique.
Each touch of color highlights a tasting note. The blazons become the chromatic interpretation of the aromatic signature of the four emblematic Ruinart R wines, Ruinart Millésimé 2011, Ruinart Blanc de Blancs and Ruinart Rosé. The connections between the vocabulary of wine and art are immediate: lime green, grapefruit pink, cherry red, yellow or citrus green...
The collection is available exclusively at the Grande Epicerie de Paris Rive Gauche, online and in store, from June 7 to July 7, 2021. Each cuvée will be revealed successively, at the rate of one per week, and within the limit of 100 pieces per cuvée.
