For the past years, the Ruinart Maison has partnered up with the Guild of Sommeliers, to create a unique blind tasting competition called the Ruinart Challenge.

THE CHALLENGE

THE 2017 EDITION

The Ruinart Challenge is back! It’s time to start sharpening your skills for this 8th edition. 
If you are selected, you will participate to a 40 minute, written, blind tasting of 4 wines that can be from any region in the world – still or sparkling. You will compete on basic blind tasting questions, but also pairing suggestions, serving temperature and ageability. Each year, a different theme is chosen that pushes the limits to what is considered a "typical blind tasting". 
The tasting is followed by a technical lecture conducted by Ruinart’s Chef de Caves, Frederic Panaïotis, and a lunch around Ruinart champagnes

THE TRIP

THE 2017 EDITION

The winning sommeliers from across the country and the world will be invited in Champagne for an amazing and educational 4 days trip. The 2 best runners-up each receive a magnum of Ruinart Blanc de Blancs.
Winners will participate to various activities such as a a private tour of Ruinart's historic Crayères, unique tasting sessions, exploring regional delicacies, CIVC experimental vineyard tour and many more surprises
