This noble grape variety is harvested mainly from the terroirs of Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims, whose soils contain a high chalk content, offering ideal conditions for the vines to flourish.
With its subtle refinement, Chardonnay is a grape variety that forms part of all Ruinart cuvées. This process has led to only twenty-three vintages being produced since the first Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs vintage appeared in 1959.

When the grapes have reached their full aromatic potential and first begin to reveal the essential character of the Ruinart Taste, the time for harvesting has come.
Bathed in the mellow orange hues of the autumn, the vines then become hives of activity from dawn to dusk, as the teams of grape-pickers cut and select the grapes. The hand of man thus continues the work of nature.
